Asta received her initial artistic training at the prestigious M.K. Čiurlionis Art College in Vilnius starting at age 11, from 1975 to 1983. She then spent six years at the Art Institute from 1983 to 1989, where she mastered all classical techniques—from charcoal and etching to oil painting and mixed media. This solid foundation was further enriched by inspiring working holidays in Nida under the guidance of teachers who imparted not only technical skills but also life philosophy and artistic wisdom.
After her studies, Asta worked as a designer in the cultural center of Vilnius, creating posters and scenography for large productions, including poetry events. Her multidisciplinary approach also involved designing her own clothing. Later, as a graphic designer at Vilnius Technical University, she expanded her traditional skills to include modern digital techniques and calligraphy.
Since 2010, based in Maastricht, Asta has revitalized and deepened her artistic practice. Working mainly from her studio primarily in acrylics, she has crafted a unique visual language that centers intuition and emotion. Her practice is shaped by her ability to access deep meditative states and her connection to lucid, often prophetic dreams—sources that infuse her work with an extraordinary vitality and intensity. Her canvases often emit a subtle shamanic glow and energy, reflecting her belief in art as a channel for healing and life force.
Her body of work includes a variety of series: delicate blossom studies, striking Provence-inspired pieces, personal portraits, and abstract art. Over the years, she has assembled an extensive private collection, choosing to prioritize artistic growth over publicity. Asta’s work is marked by a unique blend of classical technical mastery, international cultural influences, and a deeply personal, intuitive style that makes her creations authentic expressions of inner strength and transformative energy.
